Overview
The Katsina State Health Services Management Board (KTHSMB) is seeking highly qualified and dedicated Radiographers to join our diagnostic imaging teams. This Grade Level 08 position is a professional clinical role focused on delivering high-precision medical imaging services—including X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), and Ultrasound—to support the clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients across our state hospitals.
The Role
The Radiographer is responsible for conducting high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures. You will work closely with medical practitioners to ensure that radiographic examinations are performed with technical precision and clinical accuracy. We are looking for professionals who possess deep knowledge of medical imaging techniques and a steadfast commitment to radiation safety and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform a wide range of specialized imaging procedures, including digital X-rays, CT scans, and Ultrasound as required by clinical demand.
- Patient Management: Expertly prepare and position patients for various imaging modalities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and optimal image capture.
- Equipment Stewardship: Effectively operate and perform routine maintenance on advanced radiographic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Radiation Protection: Champion and enforce strict compliance with national radiation protection standards to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Quality Assurance: Process and meticulously review imaging results for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy before submission to clinicians.
- Data Management: Maintain comprehensive patient imaging records and documentation; ensure the secure handling and storage of digital imaging data and films.
- Clinical Collaboration: Work as a vital member of the healthcare team, collaborating with doctors and specialists to provide imaging data critical for diagnosis and treatment.
- Fault Reporting: Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate with technical teams for the timely repair and maintenance of imaging hardware.
- Patient Guidance: Provide clear, professional instructions to patients regarding procedures and necessary post-imaging care.
Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates for this GL. 08 appointment must meet the following criteria:
- Academic: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Radiography or Medical Imaging from a recognized and accredited university.
- National Service: Evidence of a valid NYSC Discharge Certificate or a Certificate of Exemption.
- Professional Registration: Full registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
- Licensing: Possession of a valid and Current Practicing License.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in modern diagnostic imaging techniques and a deep understanding of radiographic anatomy and physics.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional patient care skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
- Experience: Relevant clinical experience in a hospital radiology or imaging center is highly desirable.
