Position Overview
Talent Lab is seeking qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Ward Supervisor to support critical public health interventions at the community level. This recruitment is being conducted on behalf of a client implementing comprehensive community-based health programs across Northern Nigeria.
The Ward Supervisor will play a pivotal role in strengthening primary healthcare delivery within their assigned wards, ensuring that essential health services reach the most vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision: Conduct routine supportive supervision for both fixed and outreach immunization sessions.
- Activity Planning: Coordinate and implement cross-border health activities to ensure service continuity.
- Reporting & Validation: Complete and validate all retirement documents and program reports, submitting them to the Local Government Area (LGA) Consultant on a weekly basis.
- Community Engagement: Work closely with community structures to improve health outcomes and program acceptance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Residency: Must be an indigene or a current resident of the specific ward for which they are applying.
- Age: Between 25 and 50 years old.
- Professional Background: Preference will be given to active ad hoc health workers currently serving within their communities.
- Technical Experience: Prior experience supporting public health interventions is required. Specific experience with polio eradication programs is considered a significant advantage.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate local community dynamics effectively.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must not be current staff members of any sub-partner organizations, including but not limited to GGHN, Medicaid, or ACE.
- A strong commitment to public health excellence and community service is essential.
