Overview
The Katsina State Health Services Management Board (KTHSMB) is seeking innovative and technically proficient Computer Analysts to join our administrative and technical support teams. This Grade Level 08 position is central to our mission of digitizing healthcare delivery, ensuring that our information technology systems are robust, secure, and capable of supporting modern clinical operations across the state.
The Role
The Computer Analyst is responsible for the professional support and maintenance of the Board’s information technology infrastructure. You will manage hardware and software systems, ensure the integrity of health data, and provide essential technical assistance to clinical and administrative staff. We are looking for individuals who can drive the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining high standards of IT governance and data protection.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Maintain and support the functionality of computer systems, local area networks (LAN), and essential hardware peripherals.
- Infrastructure Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and specialized healthcare software applications.
- Data Management: Manage hospital-wide data systems, ensuring the highest levels of data accuracy, security, and availability.
- Technical Assistance: Provide prompt technical support and hands-on training to healthcare professionals and administrative staff on various IT platforms.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance metrics and proactively implement necessary upgrades or patches to prevent downtime.
- Security & Continuity: Ensure regular system backups, implement disaster recovery processes, and safeguard against cybersecurity threats.
- EHR Implementation: Play a key role in the deployment and ongoing support of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems across hospital departments.
- Documentation & Inventory: Maintain detailed IT documentation, system logs, and a comprehensive inventory of all computing equipment and licenses.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with management on IT planning, infrastructure expansion, and system improvements to meet evolving healthcare needs.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations comply with national data protection laws and the Board’s IT governance policies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates for this GL. 08 appointment must meet the following criteria:
- Academic: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- National Service: Evidence of a valid NYSC Discharge Certificate or a Certificate of Exemption.
- Technical Skills: Strong IT support and troubleshooting skills; proficiency in networking, system administration, and database management.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with healthcare information systems or ERP software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience: Relevant experience in IT support, system analysis, or a similar role is highly desirable.
